Rosemary Vaughan

Chesterfield FC and Chesterfield FC Community Trust are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of supporter Rosemary Vaughan.

A retired dental nurse, Rosemary was affectionately known as ‘Auntie Mary’ at the HUB, due to her her niece Andrea Parkinson being a long-time Trust staff member; the moniker was swiftly picked up by all the team, who got to know her before every home game, when she came for her pre-match hot chocolate.

A mainstay in The Van Yard (West) Stand for home games, Aunty Mary liked to travel to away matches too and never missing a fixture with Mansfield, Sheffield United or Notts County.

Her favourite player was Tommy Lee – another who knew her as Auntie Mary – and she was delighted to sit and chat to him at his retirement evening and at every opportunity she could.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew her and matchdays in the HUB won’t seem quite the same. Our thoughts go out to Andrea and her family at this difficult time.
