Chesterfield take on Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park this lunchtime in the hope of securing a third successive victory.
The Spireites can also move to seven games unbeaten as they continue to be in the hunt for the play-offs.
Tranmere are also looking to capitalise on their recent upturn in form, hoping to retain their League Two status next season.
Head-to-head
Saturday’s meeting will be the 104th time that the two sides will go head-to-head, dating back to 1922.
The Blues have won 46 times, whilst the Rovers have tasted victory on 37 occasions – 20 fixtures have ended in a draw.
Chesterfield convincingly won the reverse meeting, with Ryan Colclough, Armando Dobra and Kane Drummond scoring in a 3-0 win at the SMH Group Stadium in December.
Manager – Andy Crosby
Andy Crosby is currently in interim charge of the club, taking the role after Nigel Adkins left Tranmere in February.
The Rotherham-born defender made over 600 appearances in his career for the likes of Darlington, Oxford United and Scunthorpe United.
Crosby became manager of Port Vale in 2023 after a previous temporary spell in charge at the club and a caretaker stint with Northern Ireland U21.
He dismissed in February 2024 with Port Vale languishing near the League One relegation zone.
Player-in-focus
At 35-years-old, Kristian Dennis is still proving himself to be a constant attacking threat in League Two.
Spireites will know the striker for his spell at Chesterfield between 2016 and 2018. In that time Dennis unfortunately suffered back-to-back relegations with the club.
However, his goalscoring prowess helped him become a fan favourite, with 31 goals in 90 appearances.
After helping Carlisle United to promotion to League One in 2023, he joined Tranmere Rovers. He has bagged ten goals in 72 games, six of which have come this campaign.
