On Wealdstone

The club was founded all the way back in 1899. They have spent most of their years in and around the non-league pyramid but have seen massive successes in their most recent years, fighting in the National League for a number of seasons.

In May 2019 Dean Brennan was appointed as new manager, with Stuart Maynard joining as his assistant. The club saw ten wins in their first 11 games of the 2019/20 season, which Wealdstone rise to the top of the league. On March 26, 2020 the season was suspended due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, with Wealdstone still top of the league. On June 17 it was confirmed that the club were to be promoted to the National League as champions of the National League South, on the basis of points won per game.

This season the club sit in eighth place, just three points off the play-offs. They will have huge aspirations of gaining promotion this season and gaining a Football League status, which would be a huge accomplishment for the club.

One to watch

Olufela Olomola is an English-born forward who began his career at Southampton, he has had a number of clubs such as Yeovil Town, Carlisle United and Hartlepool United. The 25-year-old has scored six goals in 30 appearances this season.
