The Spireites recorded a third successive away victory as they strolled to a 4-0 win against Wealdstone at Grosvenor Vale.
Paul McCallum and Liam Mandeville gave the Blues a two-goal lead going into the break before Andrew Dallas and Ryan Colclough added to the scoreline in the second half.
Paul Cook made four changes from Saturday’s draw with Jeff King, Ash Palmer, Mike Jones and Ollie Banks replacing Ryheem Sheckleford, Tyrone Williams, Darren Oldaker and Tim Akinola.
Chesterfield came close to an early lead when Mandeville slipped in Dallas before the loanee dragged his effort wide of the goal.
Corie Andrews was put through on goal just before the half-hour mar when he rounded Ross Fitzsimons, but the goalkeeper did brilliantly to get a hand to the ball.
With ten minutes of the first half remaining, Chesterfield were awarded a penalty. Mandeville latched onto a poor pass from Sam Howes before being brought down in the area. McCallum assumed responsibility and powered the spot-kick into the left corner.
The goalscorer was soon forced off with an injury and replaced by Joe Quigley.
In the nine minutes of first-half added time, the lead was doubled. Colclough rolled the ball across the face of goal and after some pinball in the six-yard area, Mandeville stabbed his close-range effort into the back of the net.
Wealdstone looked to immediately halve the deficit as Charlie Barker made his way through on goal before being stopped at the last by Palmer – the rebound was subsequently cleared off the line by Jamie Grimes.
The Spireites started the second half in search for a third goal; Ollie Banks saw his driven effort saved by Howes, and then Mandeville put the ball over from six yards.
The third goal would soon come through Dallas’ first goal for the club. Colclough made a run down the right before firing a low cross that was diverted into the net by the Solihull Moors loanee.
Chesterfield strolled through the second half with the three-goal lead and added a fourth with less than 15 minutes to go. Coclough robbed a Wealdstone defender in his own half, took aim and lobbed Howes from all of 35-yards.
Banks and Oldaker both came close to adding to the scoresheet on a very satisfying night for the Spireites.
