Supporters’ Forum member Luke Searston provides a guide for supporters travelling to support the Spireites against Swindon Town
What kit will we be in?
We’ll be in our blue home kit.
Ticket information:
We received two allocations of tickets which equalled around 2100, all these sold out. An extra batch of tickets (all these must be collected from Swindon on the day) went on sale at 5pm Wednesday and are on sale until 4pm on Friday afternoon: https://www.eticketing.co.uk/chesterfieldfc/EDP/Event/Index/373
Tickets purchased out the previous batches that haven’t yet been collected, can also be collected on the day down at Swindon.
True Blue travel:
The True Blue buses are full. The four coaches will depart from The HUB at 9.30am.
Getting to the ground:
Post Code is SN1 2ED. From the Midlands – Take the M40 to junction 9, then take the A43, A34 and A420 into Swindon. At Drakes’ Roundabout turn onto Queen’s Drive. At the end set of roundabouts take the 3rd exit onto Country Road, the entrance to the stadium is the first right.
Which stand are we in?
We’re in the Arkells Stand, this is an all seater, covered stand at the side of the pitch. Also, we are in the uncovered Stratton Bank stand behind the goal.
Car parking:
Swindon Cricket Club, £5.50 per car by card/contactless (SN1 2ED). This is open subject to weather conditions as it’s on the grass. St Joseph’s School, on Ocotal Way, this is £5 per car (SN3 3LR). Alternatively, there are numerous car parks in the Town centre, which is only about half a mile away. If using street parking, please respect residents and keep an eye out for signs prohibiting parking there.
Public transport information:
Swindon station is only half a mile away from the ground, about a 10-minute walk. As you leave the station turn left onto Station Road and then when facing the White House Pub turn right onto Corporation Street. Turn left onto Manchester Road at the lights and then at the end of this road turn right onto County Road and the stadium is in front of you.
Pubs for away fans:
The bar located at the ground is home fans only. However, there is an away bar at the County Ground which is to the left of the away turnstiles. This usually opens at 12.30pm and shows the early KO games. There are a number of bars/pubs in the town centre close by. Just to be aware that some may not allow colours and others will not allow children.
Food and drink in the ground:
Usual Food offering as well as drinks will be available from the concourse. Alcohol is also available in the Arkells stand (unsure about the Stratton Bank behind the goal). Please note that the stadium is cashless so card/contactless only.
Flag policy:
Flags should be presented to stewards prior to entry and their instructions followed for positioning.
Programmes:
Programmes are available, priced at £4.
