The Spireites secured a fantastic 2-0 victory over fellow promotion hopefuls Wrexham.
First-half goals from Jeff King and Ollie Banks were enough to see the Spireites pick up all three points.
Both sides started the game very energetically, pressing intensely and getting stuck in.
The Spireites took the lead in the 10th minute. Liam Mandeville threaded a ball through to Jeff King on the right-hand side and King cut onto his left foot inside the box and slotted the ball into the bottom corner.
Once again Mandeville played a great ball over the Wrexham defence, this time finding Akwasi Asante on the left-hand side, Asante cut onto his right foot, but his effort hit the post.
Ollie Banks doubled the lead in the 23rd minute. Wrexham keeper Mark Howard came to collect a loose ball, but Armando Dobra got there first and laid the ball off the Banks on the edge of the area who finished into a virtually open net.
The Spireites had a penalty appeal turned down when Dobra was brought down on the left-hand side, with the referee ruling the foul had been committed just outside the box.
Banks fired the resulting free kick at goal, forcing a great save from Howard.
Banks once again tried his luck with a 30 yard strike; however, his effort flew wide of the post.
The Spireites went into half time with a 2-0 lead.
Joe Quigley had a chance early in the second half after meeting a Branden Horton corner. Quigley tried to flick the ball towards goal, but Howard caught easily.
Dobra took a speculative effort from the edge of the penalty area after cutting onto his right foot from the left-hand side, but his attempt flew over the bar.
Quigley forced a great save from Howard in the Wrexham goal with a powerful strike from around 20 yards out.
Mandeville had a shot after receiving the ball in the area from Horton on the left-hand side, Mandeville’s curled attempt was parried away by Howard.
Asante tried to drill the ball across the box to find Quigley, however, Howard was able to parry out.
Jamie Grimes forced Howard to make a fantastic save after he tried his luck from the edge of the box, following a corner.
After this impressive victory for the Spireites, attention will now turn to this weekend’s away trip to Notts County.
