Following dialogue with the Sports Ground Safety Authority (SGSA), supporters are reminded of the importance of avoiding lengthy periods of persistent standing during matches at the SMH Group Stadium.
Particular areas of concern are around Blocks 3 and 5 of the Motan Colortronic (South) Stand and Block 7 of The LMD Vacuum Excavation (West) Stand, where fans are not taking their seats and are standing for the vast duration of matches.
Standing in areas that are designed for seated accommodation can be dangerous and costly to the club when having to replace damaged seating. The club is intent on providing the best possible matchday experience for all and persistent standing has an impact on fans throughout the SMH Group Stadium.
If this situation persists and no improvements are evident, it is likely that the club will be forced to impose, or have imposed, stricter measures, including a potential capacity reduction. Similar measures have been imposed previously at other stadiums.
Stewards will now be instructed to direct fans to take their seat during matches. Should instructions not be adhered to, further action may be taken.
Meanwhile, supporters who go outside for a smoking break at half time are reminded of the need to remain on the stadium footprint. Anyone leaving the stadium footprint will be refused re-entry to the stadium.
Supporters are thanked in anticipation of their valued co-operation.
