“The supporters really are our 12th man”

Captain Jamie Grimes has expressed his excitement at seeing the club getting ready for the first game back in the Football League.

He also urged supporters to purchase their tickets and back the lads on Friday night when the Blues open their League Two campaign with the visit of Swindon Town to the SMH Group Stadium.

He said: “It’s fantastic to feel the buzz around this place with everyone getting ready for the first game of the season.

“The club is finally back where it belongs and I think I speak for the whole squad when I say we’re all absolutely buzzing for Friday night.

“It’s the ideal start, back in the EFL and back at home for the first game; we’re all really looking forward to it.

“The supporters last season were unbelievable, just as they have been since I joined the club.

“I would urge all supporters, if they can, to get their tickets for the game on Friday and come down and support us.

“The supporters always make a huge difference for us; they really are the 12th man.

“We appreciate them so much and we’ll be grateful as always to anyone that comes and supports us on Friday.

“It’s been a long wait for the club so let’s make Friday an evening to remember.”
