In June, Martin Paterson was named head coach of Notts County after the departure of Stuart Maynard. He previously took charge of Burton Albion back in 2024 and guided them to League One safety.

Jodi Jones won the 2023/24 League Two Player of the Season award after an incredible campaign. However, last season he struggled with injury and missed large parts of the year. Jones will be hoping to move past his injury problems and look for another season like 2023/24.

Kristian Dennis joined Chesterfield from National League North side Stockport County in 2016. It was the first time in six years that the striker played EFL football – previously playing in League Two with Macclesfield Town. He scored 31 goals in 90 games, but the Spireites unfortunately suffered two successive relegations and dropped into the National League.
He left the club to join Notts County in the summer of 2018 but also experienced relegation to the National League with them. Dennis also spent two seasons at Meadow Lane, scoring 21 times in 64 appearances.
