MANAGER
Micky Mellon was already a serial promotion winner before joining Oldham Athletic in October 2023 – winning promotions at Fleetwood Town, Shrewsbury Town and Tranmere Rovers. However, after a campaign where the missed out on the play-offs, Mellon guided his Oldham side into the play-offs in the 2024/25 season. They beat FC Halifax Town, York City and Southend United to end their exodus from the Football League. The feat marked promotion number six for Mellon as a manager.

KEY PLAYER
Mike Fondop joined Oldham Athletic in January 2022 after leaving his contract at Hartlepool United. Last season, he enjoyed the best season of his career as he helped the Latics return to the EFL.

Craig Davies first joined Oldham Athletic in 2007 from Italian side Hellas Verona for an undisclosed fee. In his year-and-a-half at the club, he scored 13 times in 55 appearances. The striker had a loan spell at Stockport County before joining Brighton & Hove Albion in January 2009.
Davies would leave Brighton in the summer of 2010 to join back up with John Sheridan, this time at Chesterfield. He created a lethal strike partnership with Jack Lester with the duo 40 league goals – Davies scored 23. He added another two goals to reach 25 goals in all competitions and help the Spireites to the League Two title. The Wales international departed the club at the end of the season to join Barnsley.
In June 2007, Davies once again joined up with john Sheridan as he re-joined Oldham Athletic. In his one season back at Boundary Park, he scored 14 times in 44 games. Davies left at the end of the 2017/18 season to join Mansfield Town.
