The Spireites’ first home game of 2026 sees League Two leaders Bromley visit the SMH Group Stadium.
Paul Cook’s side have had 11 days since their last game, a 2-2 away draw at MK Dons thanks to a late Will Grigg goal.
Bromley have won seven games on the bounce and sit at the top of the League Two table – five points ahead of Swindon Town.
In the Spotlight
Michael Cheek is once again having another fantastic season, topping the League Two scoring charts with 14 goals in 25 games.
He currently only sits behind Erling Haaland, Igor Thiago and Ollie Pearce in the top five divisions for goals scored.
Saturday will mark his 17th appearance against Chesterfield in which he has scored 12 times.
The gaffer’s record
Bromley have provided Paul Cook with opposition nine times before in his career – all as Chesterfield manager.
The Spireites’ chief has a record of four wins, two draws and three defeats against side from Greater London.
In September, the two teams played out a 2-2 draw at the CopperJax Community Stadium with the hosts scoring an added time equaliser.
Man in the middle
American-born Alex Chilowicz is the man to take charge of the fixture between Chesterfield and Bromley.
He has previously refereed one game involving the Spireites, the 1-0 win over Burton Albion in the Vertu Trophy back in October.
The 38-year-old officiated in several leagues in the USA, including in Major League Soccer, between 2017 and 2023, before making the move to the EFL.
Gary Roberts’ thoughts
“We always have good games with them. You’ve seen some thrillers here, they’ve beat us down there, we’ve beat them here, it’s always been a good game.
“We’re looking forward to another ding-dong, because we both go at it, we give our all, and hopefully we come out on the better side of it.”
