The Spireites are looking to end August with back-to-back league wins when Crawley Town visit the SMH Group Stadium.
Paul Cook’s side sit in second place in the League Two table after the 2-1 win at Harrogate Town last Saturday.
Crawley are yet to taste victory so far this season, with their only point coming in a draw with MK Dons.
In the Spotlight
Kabongo Tshimanga joined Crawley in the summer after leaving League One side Peterborough United.
The striker had a loan spell last season with Swindon Town, where he scored 13 times in 44 appearances.
He opened his account for the Red Devils in their Carabao Cup first round defeat to Swansea City.
Tshimanga is well-known at the SMH Group Stadium after his year-and-a-half spell between August 2021 to January 2023. The talisman bagged 33 goals during that time.
The gaffer’s record
Saturday will mark the tenth time that Paul Cook has come up against Crawley Town in his managerial career.
His record is a good one against the Red Devils, recording six wins, two draws and just one defeat.
The last time Cook managed the Spireites against Crawley was in January 2015; Eoin Doyle scored either side of a Jay O’Shea goal for a 3-0 win at the SMH Group Stadium.
Man in the middle
Ben Toner will take charge of his second game of the 2025/26 season – previously refereeing the League One fixture between Mansfield Town and Blackpool
The official has been the man in the middle for 422 competitive matches over the course of his career, awarding 1,373 yellow cards and 55 red cards.
Mr Toner has been the referee for three Chesterfield matches with his last one coming in last campaign’s League Two play-off semi-final second leg against Walsall.
