On Ben Strevens

Best known for his stints as Barnet, Dagenham & Redbridge and Eastleigh, Ben Strevens started his coaching career with the latter in his final spell at the club. After two years of being assistant manager, the former forward became manager of the club in October 2018. Strevens left in January 2022 before joining Dagenham & Redbridge over a year later.

One to watch

Inih Effiong is one of the best strikers in the National League and has proved that for the past several years. Despite a slow start to the season, which saw him miss numerous games, the forward has found some scintillating form. Effiong has scored eight times in his last eight National League games.

Played for both

Luke Croll joined Dagenham & Redbridge in June 2019 and spent two years at the Chigwell Construction Stadium. The defender made over 50 appearances for the club before leaving in the summer of 2021.

In November 2021, Croll made the move to Chesterfield and scored his first professional goal in his debut – a 3-1 victory against Southend United in the FA Cup. His departed the club at the end of the season and has since joined fellow National League side Eastleigh.

“We’ve got to make sure we keep going. Dagenham is going to be a really tough place to go and we’ll be doing our best to get the three points.”
