The Spireites grabbed all three points in a tricky away fixture against Dagenham & Redbridge in tough weather conditions, as goals from Armando Dobra and James Berry were enough to secure a 2-1 victory.
The first chance of the game fell to the Spireites as Bailey Clements was released on the left, delivering a powerful cross into the area which landed on the foot of Berry, but he couldn’t keep his effort down.
Dagenham had a big chance in the tenth minute, when Inih Effiong was put through on goal with just Harry Tyrer to beat, but the stopper stood tall and made a tremendous one-on-one save.
It was the Spireites who took the lead in the 30th minute, with Berry smashing the ball into the bottom corner from the centre of the area after Ollie Banks’ shot was deflected into the path of the number 18, who made no mistake.
The rest of the half turned into a scrappy affair with no real chances, with the referee calling an end to the first period with the Blues ahead.
The first chance of the second half fell to Dagenham, when a mix-up between Tyrer and Jamie Grimes allowed Effiong to chip the keeper, only to see his effort go over the crossbar.
Ryan Hill pulled one back for the hosts in the 54th minute after a loss of possession allowed the number 10 to fire home into the bottom corner past Tyrer.
The Blues had a chance to pull one back seconds later when Jeff King was brought down in the area, but Banks hit the bar from the penalty spot.
Dobra saw his effort blaze over the bar in the 74th minute as the conditions inside the stadium worsened.
Dobra made no mistake in the 76th minute, poking the ball into the back of the net after a goalmouth scramble.
The Blues saw out the game in a professional manner, collecting all three points on the road.
