On Marc White

Marc White is one of the most recognisable characters in the National League. Dorking Wanderers’ manager/owner has watched his team go from the basement of England’s lower league to one tier from the EFL. Despite their current position in the table, Dorking continue to fight for their place in the league against numerous full-time teams.

One to watch

Former Spireites Charlie Carter started this campaign at Eastleigh before joining fellow National League side Dorking Wanderers in October. The midfielder broke his wrist soon after moving to Meadowbank. However, since his return, Carter has scored four goals as Dorking look to secure fifth tier survival.

This season in numbers (for Eastleigh and Dorking Wanderers):

Appearances – 28

Goals – 5

Yellow Cards – 2

Red Cards – 0

Minutes Played – 2,127

Played for both

Joe Cook joined Chesterfield in the summer of 2022 from Isthmian League Premier Division side Bognor Regis Town. The defender waited patiently for his chance before making his debut in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round win over Anstey Nomads. He made two more league appearances before joining Dorking Wanderers on loan in November.

Cook spent two months in Surrey before going back to the SMH Group Stadium. The young centre-back made the move permanent soon after. He was a big part in Dorking’s journey to National League survival. This season, Cook has made ten appearance in the fifth tier and also had a spell out on loan at Weymouth.

View from the dugout

Danny Webb said: “They’re a good side. You never really know what you’re going to get from them. They can do anything and play so many different ways but we’re aware of their threats.

“Dorking are fighting for their lives and will be doing everything in their power to get a result in-front of the TV cameras.”
