The Spireites secured a convincing 3-1 over Barnet at the Technique Stadium. First-half goals from Ollie Banks and Akwasi Asante saw the Spireites leading at half time. And a second half goal from Kabongo Tshimanga but the game beyond all doubt.
Jeff King had an early chance for the Spireites after connecting with a Branden Horton cross at the back post, the ball deflected behind for a corner.
Banks put the Spireites ahead in the second minute of the game, a loose ball fell to him, following a corner, and Banks fired the ball into the net.
The Spireites almost doubled their lead after Armando Dobra was sent through on goal, although he dragged his shot wide.
Barnet equalised in the 17th minute when the ball fell to Sean Shields on the edge of the box and his powerful show flew into the net despite Lucas Covolan getting a hand to it.
Joe Quigley had a chance for the Spireites after getting on the end of a King cross from the right-hand side, but his header was caught by Laurie Walker.
The Spireites took the lead for the second time in the 33rdminute through Asante. The ball was parried back into the box by Walker and fell to the feet of Asante who fired into the net.
King tried his luck with a free kick around 20 yards out, but his effort flew over the bar.
Covolan made a great save late in the first half after Nicke Kabamba found himself one on one.
Quigley came close to doubling the lead after receiving the ball just inside the box, his effort was tipped over for a corner.
Quigley again came close from the resulting corner, heading the ball at the near post and forcing a great save from Walker.
The Spireites almost doubled their lead from a corner kick when the ball fell to Asante on the edge of the six-yard box, but his attempt looped over the bar.
Barnet captain Dale Gorman came close to equalising for the visitors with a great strike from range that bounced back off a post.
The Spireites went two goals ahead in the 74th minute when substitute Tshimanga ran onto a through ball down the left-hand side, sending him though on goal. Tshimanga calming slotted the ball into the bottom right corner.
Liam Mandeville forced a great save late in the game from Walker at his near post as he got a shot away inside the box with his back to goal.
