Assistant-manager Danny Webb praised the character of the players after Friday night’s convincing 3-1 win over Barnet at the Technique Stadium.
Webb said: “At one-all, I think you saw the character to keep playing the way we wanted to play, with the pressure of 7,000 supporters that were cheering us on and urging us over the line.
“In the end it was a comfortable victory. We had to rely on Lucas (Covolan) a couple of times, we defended the box really well from set pieces.
“We were brave, made some good decisions. It’s still very early days but some real positive signs at the moment.
“I think what is important is that however teams come and set up, we play how the manager wants us to play.
“I think you saw that at one-nil, there wasn’t a panic and like I always say, fair play to the supporters.
“The supporters stuck with us; the boys kept playing their football.
“Going in at half time with the lead was a really big boost because I think that it probably killed them a little bit in terms of their confidence etc.”
