The Spireites came from behind to win 2-1 at Gateshead.
They left it late but grabbed a winner through Ryan Colclough at the Gateshead International Stadium after an entertaining match to end their winless streak.
The game got off to a lighting quick start, with Gateshead taking the lead after just four minutes, after Greg Olley whipped the ball across the face of goal and Jamie Grimes turned the ball into his own net, as Marcus Dinanga was awaiting a tap-in at the back post.
The Spireites nearly hit back straight away, with Liam Mandeville delivering a perfectly timed cross to the back post, where Laurence Maguire met the ball but his headed effort rattled the woodwork.
Colclough saw his strike from the edge of the area brilliantly saved by goalkeeper Filip Marschall down to his left in the 15th minute.
Paul McCallum thought he’d got his second goal in a Spireites shirt in the 38th minute after heading home from Darren Oldaker’scross, but the linesman had his flag up for offside and the goal was ruled-out.
The Blues got their equaliser just before half-time, as McCallum turned home Mandeville’s low cross at the front post to get back on level terms.
It was nearly the perfect start to the second half for the Spireites when Tim Akinola drove into the box and found McCallum unmarked around six-yards-out, but the striker got his effort wrong and it was comfortably saved by the keeper.
In the 65th minute, the hosts had a goal ruled-out after Kamil Conteh raced in on goal and converted past Ross Fitzsimons, but the official had his flag up.
Ryheem Sheckleford went close to scoring his first goal for the club when he fired a shot towards goal from the right, but Marschall met the effort with a fantastic save.
In the final seconds, the Spireites grabbed a deserved winner, Colclough bundling home from a goal-mouth scramble – sending the away end into raptures.
Attention now turns to Tuesday’s game away at Southend United.
