Key Responsibilities:
– Deliver high-quality, evidence-based injury prevention, treatment and rehabilitation programmes to first-team football players.
– Work closely with the head physio to design and implement personalised treatment plans.
– Conduct thorough assessments of players’ physical conditions and develop appropriate therapy plans.
– Provide immediate care following sports injuries, including emergency first aid.
– Utilize manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and various modalities to optimize players’ recovery.
– Monitor and record players’ progress accurately and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
– Collaborate with other medical and coaching staff to ensure a holistic approach towards team health and performance.
– Educate players on injury prevention strategies and techniques.
– Stay up-to-date with the latest research and advancements in sports therapy and rehabilitation.
Qualifications:
– BSc in Sports Rehabilitation, Sports Therapy, or a relevant degree.
– Professional certification or membership such as ATMIIF or equivalent is desirable, although not mandatory.
– Prior experience in a professional sports setting is desirable, although not mandatory.
– Strong understanding of sports biomechanics, anatomy, and physiology.
– Excellent manual therapy and rehabilitation skills.
– Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple players’ needs simultaneously.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with players and staff.
– High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity.
– Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel with the team as required.
– Experience in sports massage.
