Manager Paul Cook spoke to the media ahead of Saturday’s game away at Gateshead whilst also reflecting on the midweek defeat at Wrexham.
Speaking to the media, he said: “We started nowhere near good enough at Wrexham.
“We have to be stronger and we have to be more aggressive with everything we do. It’s that simple.
“You can’t start like that, but now we move on to an exciting trip to Gateshead and hopefully we can get back to winning ways.”
Cook expressed how much he is hurting with the recent run of results and how determined he and the players are to turn this form around.
“We’re all hurting, every single one of us,” he said.
“I say ‘we’ because that’s me too, we’re all struggling at the moment and we want nothing more than to start winning again and get some smiles back on faces around the place.
“These are a good group of lads who want to do well for the club. I urge supporters to stick with us because we’re hurting.
“We want to bring success to this football club and I’m determined to do that and I know all the lads are too.
“We know what it means to the supporters and we’re 100% with them too.”
He also provided an update on Armando Dobra and gave a snippet of team news ahead of the trip.
He said: “We’re trying to keep it a little quiet around Armando [Dobra].
“He certainly won’t be involved on Saturday and will be missing from the next few games.
“We’re disappointed as we’d love him to be involved in every game but the reality is we have so much quality on the pitch in all areas and we know we’re good enough.
“There will definitely be changes on Saturday, without doubt.
“I can’t keep doing the same thing and expecting a different result – that’s a method of madness.
“I’m a loyal manager and I’ve stuck with players; I want to be loyal to a good team.
“There will be some changes tomorrow and hopefully we can turn up and come home with all three points.
“It will be a very tricky game though, as all of them in this division are.”
