“We’re excited for sure to see how it plays out”

After three consecutive league starts, Devan Tanton spoke exclusively to 1886+ as the Spireites prepare for the Emirates FA Cup tie against Doncaster Rovers.
Speaking ahead of the game, he said: “It’s rare that you have this sort of opportunity to play a team so close in succession, so obviously we’re looking to make a mark on Saturday.
“It’s odd because tactically there are slight adjustments, so it’s almost a case of keeping your cards close to your chest, but we’re excited for sure to see how it plays out.”
Having spent his youth in North America, Tanton then discussed his view on the FA Cup growing up and how much he was looking forward to playing in the competition at the SMH Group Stadium.
“I know it’s such a big deal over here,” he said. “I think even for someone that grew up in the States, maybe I didn’t know everything about the competition, but it was clear that it was very important, so I would say it’s well recognised internationally.
“The atmosphere is everything. It’ll be very different to Tuesday where there weren’t many people there and I’m really looking forward to playing in front of a packed crowd.”
