A hard fought battle saw Chesterfield FC Women claim all three points on a rainy Sunday afternoon as they beat Lower Hopton AFC 3-0.
Goals from Lucy Graham, Lexie Butterworth and Leah Harrison secured a third win in a row for the Spireites.
The victory means the Spireites move up the table to fourth place.
From the first whistle, the Spireites found themselves in a scuffle in the box, which saw Graham latch onto a ball and poke home her effort within 30 seconds.
The contest would remain tight until Chloe Foster brilliantly shrugged off a defender and her effort found Harrison on the edge of the box who put away a fine finish.
The second period began devoid of much action until Foster forced an impressive save from the keeper.
Shortly after, Butterworth was slipped in behind the defence, calmly placing into the bottom left-hand corner.
Andrea Parkinson then made a series of changes to sure up the back-line, reducing Lower Hopton’s attacking threat in the latter period of the contest.
