The Spireites secured a 1-0 win against Altrincham at the Technique Satdium on Tuesday night. A header from Ash Palmer late in the game meant that the Spireites took all three points.
Liam Mandeville had the Spireites’ first chance of the game, after receiving the ball inside the box. His shot forced a good save from Ollie Byrne in the Altrincham goal.
Mandeville had another chance, this time from the edge of the area, but his attempt flew over the bar.
Altrincham had a good chance to take the lead when Marcus Dinanga was sent through, one on one, but he poked his effort wide of the target.
Ollie Banks forced Byrne into making a good save with a powerful shot from range.
The Spireites went into half time with the score 0-0.
The Spireites made a bright start to the second half. Joe Quigley managed get a header away inside the box, which was saved.
The Spireites continued to put pressure on Altrincham early in the second half. Mike Jones had a shot from the edge of the area that Byrne had to tip wide for a corner.
Banks tried his luck from the edge of the box, his attempt went narrowly over the bar.

The Spireites found the breakthrough in the 88th minute when Palmer drilled a sublime header into the bottom corner, following a corner from Jeff King.
Attention will now turn to Saturday’s fixture, when the Spireites travel to Barnet.
