“I thought it was a good test and really challenged us.”

Danny Webb reflected on Saturday’s 3-0 defeat against Championship side Sheffield United and he began by expressing the importance of the run-out, over the result.

He said: “I think three-nil probably flattered them in the end, to be honest.

“They played well but I thought we held our own well.

“Although, the result doesn’t matter too much; it’s all about the fitness and getting minutes under the belts of the boys.

“I thought it was a good test and really challenged us.”

He spoke on the disappointment of some injury concerns.

“Paddy [Madden] looks like a bad one, unfortunately,” he said.

“I hope I’m wrong but the initial assessment didn’t look too great.

“Ryheem [Sheckleford] also felt his calf I believe so we’ll have to see how that is, but hopefully Ash [Palmer] is just a knock by the looks of it so he should be okay.

“We definitely wanted to avoid injuries so that’s a shame; but it is what it is and we have to move on and work together.”
